Buzzwords Barcamp closes with a party

Good news everyone: We have confirmation from Soundcloud for their support for the Berlin Buzzwords barcamp. Not only are they sponsoring free food for all attendees. After 9p.m. we will also have DJ Stylewalker in newthinking store. Thanks to Soundcloud for supporting the Barcamp.

Group and student registration closed

As of today we have to close registration for group tickets and student tickets. If you would like to buy a ticket please use our online registration. Don't wait too long - we have only 30 tickets left.

If you use our online registration system, please do not forget to print your ticket, especially if you order it shortly before the conference opens. Looking forward to meeting you in Berlin next week.

Five days left

The Berlin Buzzwords conference is taking place next week, that's 5 days from now. It will take place in Berlin Kosmos, a former cinema, in Karl-Marx-Allee 131, 10243 Berlin. You can reach the venue via public transport - get off of the subway U5 at Frankfurter Tor, from there it is 100 m to walk. If you arrive by car: Kosmos has underground parking that is available for a fee.

Berlin Buzzwords opens its doors next Monday at 8:45am. As you may know, the conference is being organised by Simon Willnauer, Jan Lehnardt, Isabel Drost and newthinking communications. We would like to use this opportunity to publish some pictures and background information on the people behind Berlin Buzzwords - if you have any questions or problems during the conference, don't hesitate to grab one of the following guys for help:

20 more tickets for Berlin Buzzwords Barcamp

The BerlinBuzzwords Barcamp was full already. As there are still several people who would like to attend we have been talking to the guys at newthinking store. We agreed to split the barcamp and have two parallel tracks. As a result another 20 tickets for the Berlin Buzzwords Barcamp have been added to the registration list.

Register for Berlin Buzzwords Barcamp

If you arrive on Sunday go to our Berlin Buzzwords Barcamp that takes place in newthinking store at Tucholskystr. 48 in Berlin Mitte. Please make sure to register before Sunday. As space is limited we have to restrict the number of attendees to 40, so don't wait too long to put your name on the list of attendees.

Berlin Buzzwords now has a wiki hosted at wikidot.com: It is located at http://berlinbuzzwords.wikidot.com. We are collecting local information, hotel recommendations, restaurant lists there. If your favourite is missing - feel free to hit the edit button.

Student and group tickets until June 2nd

The day Berlin Buzzwords opens is drawing closer. We are in the process of finalizing the registration process. As such we have to close registrations for group tickets and student tickets next Wednesday, June 2nd. So if you would like to buy a group ticket or register as student, don't wait too long. Online registration through amiando will of course be possible after this date.

Peter is co-founder of the www.neo4j.org project. Peter has been deeply involved in programming for 10 years and is co-founder of a number of Open Source projects like Neo4j, Tinkerpop, OPS4J and Qi4j. Peter loves connecting things, writing crappy prototypes and throwing together new ideas and projects around web, mobile and graphs. If you want brainstorming- feed him a Latte and you are in business.

Simon Willnauer and Uwe Schindler on Apache Lucene

Uwe is committer and PMC member of Apache Lucene and Solr. His main focus is on development of Lucene Java. He implemented fast numerical search and is maintaining the new attribute-based text analysis API. He studied Physics at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. He works as software architect and consultant for PANGAEA (Publishing Network for Geoscientific & Environmental Data) in Bremen, Germany. Uwe had talks about Lucene at various international conferences and meetups.
